Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Calcutta West is part of Rotary International that was founded on 10th. January, 1924. Our 2009-2010 "HELP bring HOPE" motto matches with Mukti for Social Developmentās stated goal to foster self-reliant and thriving communities amongst low-income and under-privileged in developing and under developed nations especially India. This project was fully funded and supported by Mukti for Social Development, USA.
Manab Jamin is a Project of Society for Equitable Voluntary Actions (SEVA), which is a pellucid, people centred Civil society Organization based in Eastern India (West Bengal) inducing tenacious social developmental interventions in the areas of Rural Development
Mukti for Social Development distributed 12 Solar Bogo Lights to VSSS (VIVEKANANDA SWASTHYA SEVA SANGHA) the group members of Harangheri to illuminate their homes after dark.
Mukti for Social Development, USA and One Million Lights, USA, distributed 40 solar lamps among talented but needy students and some underprivileged villagers of Dakshin Kankandighi, Sundarban.
MSD is partnering with Desire India in Nellore and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh to move stranded people to higher grounds and provide food and safe drinking water. MSD has pledged $1000 for immediate short term relief and is working on designing projects with help from Desire India for long term relief.
Mukti for Social Development has initiated a project to collect toys for children living at the Rebele Family Shelter (115 Coral Street, Santa Cruz, California 95060, USA) here in Santa Cruz. If you are feeling the spirit of giving this holiday season please contact us for more information regarding the locations of our donation receptacles. Remember, toys/gifts do not have to be expensive to be enjoyable! The ages of the children living at the shelter range from 2 months to 17 years. Anything that you can give is greatly appreciated (toys and/or hobby supplies).
Anandamela, a one day fun-filled event was organized by Bay Area Prabasi on June 26, 2010 in Fremont, California. MSD volunteers participated in this event for fundraising as well as for bringing awareness regarding our organization and its activities locally.
